Vol. 161 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2 and 8 and, in 8, Votes 47 and 37 and Votes 60 and 61. It is not proposed to interrupt the Order to take Private Members' Business.

May I ask the Minister for Finance when he proposes to introduce his Budget?

On the Order of Business, surely the Government should have given notice as to what they intended doing in regard to these amendments from the Seanad.

An Tanaiste

I think that was done at the previous sitting. It was on the Order Paper.

I seem to remember an occasion when the present Minister, then a Deputy on this side, said that his scrupulous regard for procedure required him to demur in a similar situation and he decided that the Minister should wait until the morrow for his Bill.

If there is any objection taken——

I am but refreshing the Minister's mind. I do not propose to follow the Minister's rigid example. Any courtesy I can extend, I shall be happy to do so.

And we shall appreciate it.
