Vol. 161 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Telephone Kiosk.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the urgent necessity for a public telephone kiosk for the residents of Mervue Estate, near Galway City, where 250 houses were recently erected; and if he will state what steps he proposes to take to provide one.

The provision of a public telephone kiosk at Mervue Estate is not, I regret, warranted at present by the use likely to be made of it.

Would the Minister indicate where the nearest public telephone is?

I am afraid I have not got a map of Galway with me, but there are five telephones available in the district.

I beg to differ; there is not one within a mile and a half.
