Vol. 161 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carnew (Wicklow) New Schools.

andMr. O'Toole asked the Minister for Education when he expects tenders to be invited for the erection of the new schools for Carnew, County Wicklow.

My Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of erecting the proposed new national school at Carnew, County Wicklow. The arrangements for the erection of the school are in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works. I am informed by the commissioners that the preparation of bills of quantities, which is a necessary preliminary to the invitation of tenders, is in hands. As soon as the bills of quantities have been prepared the commissioners will invite tenders, but I am unable to say at present when it will be possible for the commissioners to do so.
