The Mayo County Council has accepted tenders for the two contracts on the Knock Water Supply Scheme, and a loan from the Local Loans Fund to finance the scheme has been sanctioned. I understand that work on the scheme will be commenced shortly.
A preliminary report on the proposed sewerage scheme has been submitted by the consulting engineer appointed by the council in connection with the scheme, and my Department's recommendations on the outline scheme have been forwarded to the council for their consideration.
