Vol. 162 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages and Salaries of Local Authority Employees.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he intends to authorise increases in salaries and wages to offset the increases in the cost of living on local authority employees following on the recent Budget, and, if so, what steps the Government propose to take to provide the money to meet additional demands on State funds arising from such increases.

The remuneration of local employees is a matter primarily for their employers, the local authorities.
