Vol. 163 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Tipperary Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands when the O'Meara estate, Ballyscanlon, Coolbawn, Nenagh, County Tipperary, will be divided and allotted by the Land Commission to the small-holders and cottage tenants in that area.

It is not possible to indicate at present when this estate will be allotted but it will be dealt with as soon as circumstances permit. The claims of all eligible applicants will be fully considered before allotment takes place.

Is the Minister aware that this is only second-class land and that it has been set in conacre for third crop corn? In order to ensure that people who qualify and receive a portion of the land will be able to pay for it, I would ask the Minister to see that it is divided this year.
