Vol. 163 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyfermot Upper Sub-Post-Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state in respect of the sub-post-office at Ballyfermot Upper (a) the name and address of the sub-postmaster, and the date of appointment, (b) whether the position was advertised, and on what date, (c) what method of selecting such sub-postmaster was employed, (d) the name and address of the rated occupier and legal owner of the premises in which such sub-post-office is located, (e) the gross average monthly value of salary and emoluments received by such sub-postmaster since appointment.

The sub-postmastership at Ballyfermot Upper is vacant and is being advertised at present. It had been advertised previously in November, 1956, following on notice of resignation from the sub-postmaster but the applicant to whom appointment was offered declined it. The sub-office is being carried on as a temporary arrangement by the outgoing sub-postmaster pending the filling of the vacancy.
