Vol. 164 No. 1

Written Answers. - Limerick Housing Proposals.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what proposals are at present in his Department from the Limerick Corporation concerning housing, and the position with regard to each such proposal.

A proposal by the Limerick Corporation to acquire land at Coolraine for use for better class housing was received in the Department on the 17th instant and is at present being examined.

A request made last month by the corporation for approval in principle to the erection of 51 houses on a site at Garryowen, which had been reserved for use as a school site, is under consideration.

Decisions in regard to these two proposals will be conveyed to the local housing authority as soon as possible.

The position regarding a third proposal, namely, the compulsory acquisition of land at Carey's Road, is set out in the reply to Question No. 63.
