Vol. 164 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Pumps in Kerry Rural Areas.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the considerable delay on the part of the Kerry County Council in carrying out the No. 2 scheme of water pumps in rural areas is due to the council's inability to secure the necessary finance from their bankers or other local sources of accommodation; and, if so, if he will now agree to make a loan of the amount required, viz., £12,500, available from the Local Loans Fund.

The position in regard to this loan was explained in my reply to the Deputy's earlier question on this subject, on the 28th May last. Since then the county council has had no communication with my Department regarding the financing of this scheme.
