Vol. 164 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Positions of Government-Appointed Directors.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state all the positions which are held in the Houses of the Oireachtas, political organisations, companies (public or private), State boards, or local authorities, by any person appointed by him or by the Government to any directorship since 20th March last.

The only person so appointed for the first time since the 20th March last was Mr. Thomas P. Hogan, B.E., A.M.I.E.E., who was appointed by the Government to be a member of C.I.E. on the 13th August last.

is not a member of either House of the Oireachtas. I do not know if he is a member of any local authority, or if he holds any position in any political organisation. He is a member of the Board of the Dundalk Engineering Works, Limited, a State-sponsored company. What positions he may hold as a private individual in private or public companies is his own business, and I do not propose to make any inquiries in the matter.
