Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Yields from Customs and Excise.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amount received from (a) customs, and (b) excise, in the ten months ending 31st January, 1958, from (1) tobacco, (2) spirits, (3) beer, and (4) petrol.

As the answer takes the form of a tabular statement I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

The approximate net receipts during the period 1st April, 1957, to the 31st January, 1958, in respect of the items mentioned were:—

NOTE.—The revenue from petrol is not separately recorded, but is included under the heading "Mineral Hydrocarbon Light Oils." More than 99% of the receipts under this heading is derived from petrol.
