Vol. 165 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authorities (Works) Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgent necessity for making sufficient money available for the implementation of the Local Authorities Works Act to relieve flooding, and to give much needed employment, and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

The provision, if any, which may be made for this service for the coming financial year is a matter for consideration by the Government in its review of the Estimates. I can not anticipate the decision that may be reached.
