Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shannon Airport: Emoluments of Comptroller of Sales.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total salary and commission paid to the comptroller of sales and catering at Shannon Airport during the last five years.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the amount of the net profit on which the commission of the comptroller of sales and catering at Shannon Airport was based, and the rate of commission in each of the last five years.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 11 and 12 together and to circulate in the Official Report a tabular statement setting out the information sought by the Deputy. The information given in the tabular statement relates to the five years ended 31st January, 1957, the latest date for which figures are available.

NOTE.—The figure of fixed emoluments shown in Column (2) and included in Column (4 excludes a car allowance of £250 per annum. Net profits (Column 5) are determinable after charging commission.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the amount of travelling and subsistence allowances paid to the comptroller of sales and catering at Shannon Airport in the year ended 31st March last.

The accounting year for the Shannon Airport Sales and Catering Service ends on 31st January, not 31st March. During the year ended 31st January, 1957, the latest year for which figures are available, the Comptroller of Sales and Catering received a motor car allowance of £250, but was paid no subsistence allowances.
