Vol. 166 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Anti-Poliomyelitis Vaccine.

asked the Minister for Health if he has any information which would help medical practitioners to decide on behalf of their patients which is the vaccine of choice for use in Ireland, the Salk or the British type anti-poliomyelitis vaccine.

British and North American poliomyelitis vaccines are derived from an inactivated virus and have been approved for use in this country by the Medical Research Council of Ireland. The selection of a particular product is a matter for the individual medical practitioner.
