Vol. 166 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Connemara School.

asked the Minister for Education if he has agreed to sanction the erection of a new national school at Turloughbeg, Rosmuck, County Galway.

The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to say if the existing premises of the Rosmuck national school would allow of the carrying out of a scheme of extension and improvement to render the building suitable to the school requirements of that area. Whilst the report of the commissioners is not yet to hand, I understand that they are likely to recommend the erection of a new school building. In that event, my Department will be prepared to sanction a grant towards the cost of erecting the new school building as soon as the necessary preliminaries are completed.
