asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of civil servants, teachers, etc., who are insured at less than the full contribution rate.

The number of persons insured under the Social Welfare Acts in respect of whom special rate employment contributions are payable for the purpose of widows' (contributory) pensions and orphans' (contributory) allowances only is 39,000.
