asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he intends to grant to agents of his Department, acting throughout the country as officials for the collection and the distribution of insurance stamp cards and the payment of disability benefit, an increase in salary similar to that granted to civil servants; and, if so, from what date.

The appropriate increase, in accordance with the scale of increases recently approved for civil servants, has been granted to the local agents in question with effect as from the date of the application of the general increase, i.e., 1st April, 1958.
