Vol. 168 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Leaflets of Department of Agriculture.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state where his Department's leaflets Nos. 54, 69, 88, 95, 93, 94, 105 and 116 may be obtained.

Of the eight leaflets mentioned by the Deputy, six are at present either undergoing revision or are being reprinted following revision, and copies are not immediately available from stock. The former Leaflet No. 105, which dealt with the making of silage, has been withdrawn from the series, having been replaced by an illustrated brochure on this subject, copies of which may be obtained by application to my Department. Copies of Leaflet No. 94 are also available on application.

I have arranged to have copies of the brochure and of Leaflet No. 94 sent to the Deputy.

How long have these leaflets been out of print? Would the Minister consider pressing the Department to reprint them?

I could not tell the Deputy how long they are out of print.

Would the Minister impress on the Department the need for expedition in getting them reprinted? It is hard enough to get farmers to apply for them but it greatly inconveniences them, when they do apply, to find they are not available.

The printer is like the rest of us. He finds himself busy.

Perhaps the Minister would address his mind to the printer and the Department?

May be we could do that too.
