Vol. 168 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Replanting of Waterford Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the position regarding the replanting of lands by the Forestry Branch in the Cheekpoint and Faithlegge areas, County Waterford.

The only land so far acquired by my Department for forestry purposes in the district referred to is an area of 23 acres in Raheen which was planted last winter.

Agreement to purchase an additional area of 89 acres at Castletown was reached about a year ago but the legal formalities have not yet been completed. Negotiations have been opened for the purchase of other lands in the district totalling 73 acres. There are a number of other cases at the preliminary investigation stages.
