The total value of building and constructional works, other than road works, in respect of which tenders or direct labour estimates are before my Department awaiting sanction is approximately £176,500. With regard to road works, a grant allocation of approximately £5,000,000 has been made from the Road Fund to local authorities for the current financial year and proposals to utilise this money are being initiated. It would not be practicable, however, to distinguish the various stages which the road proposals have reached.
