Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Motor Car and Motor Cycle Patrols.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the total number of (a) motor car and (b) motor cycle patrols operating in (1) Dublin district and (2) Cork district on 1st June, 1957, and 1958.

The answer is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the Ceann Comhairle's permission, will be circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

In addition to above there were a number of Detective Branch cars patrolling at irregular intervals.

(a) One patrol car was allocated temporarily to another division.

(b) One patrol car was undergoing repairs.

(c) Five motor cycles were temporarily allocated for training purposes.

(d) The motor cycle was temporarily allocated for training purposes.
