Vol. 169 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Uniforms for Wexford F.C.A. Units.

asked the Minister for Defence why it is not possible for the personnel of the F.C.A. units in County Wexford to obtain replacements of uniforms and boots when such are required.

Replacement issues of uniform clothing and boots to F.C.A. personnel are being continued as heretofore. It has, however, been brought to my notice that due to unavoidable circumstances there is a temporary shortage of certain items in the smaller popular sizes. There has been an abnormally heavy demand for these sizes during the past year with consequent depletion of stocks. Steps to remedy the situation have already been taken and I anticipate that adequate supplies of all items will be available in the near future.
