Vol. 169 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electric Current for Mayo Townlands.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the E.S.B. will arrange for a canvass of the following townlands in the Crossmolina area, viz., Dooleague, Coolturk, Eskeragh, Shanvolaun, Formoyle, Corvoderry, Ballyvichma, Ballylahan, Shranaconigane, Cuilcurrane, Knockbrack, Owenboy, Carrowgarve and Commage, with a view to providing electric current to those townlands.

I am informed by the E.S.B. (1) that the townlands of Shranaconigane, Ballylahan, Cuilcurrane, and Commage cannot be identified from the board's records, (2) that the townlands of Dooleague, Eskeragh, Formoyle, Shanvolaun, Corvoderry and Carrowgarve South are included in the Bellacorick rural area where an official canvass is expected to commence in August next, and (3) that any householder in the remaining townlands referred to in the question who wishes to obtain supply will be quoted terms on application to the board's district engineer.
