asked the Minister for Health if he will amend the regulations made under the Local Government Act, 1941, so as to bring the superannuation code applicable to agricultural workers employed by mental hospital authorities into line with the general provisions of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1956 (Part III).

The superannuation code governing officers and servants of mental hospital authorities is embodied in Part VIII of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945, and an alteration in this code cannot be effected by regulation. As I told the Deputy in my answer to his question on the 1st instant, I am having this matter examined at present but I am not yet in a position to indicate what action I shall take.
