Vol. 170 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Employees of South Cork Board of Assistance.

asked the Minister for Health whether an application has been received from South Cork Board of Public Assistance requesting sanction to increase employees' wages by 10/- per week as from 1st January, 1958; and, if so, what is the present position regarding the application.

I have not received such an application from the South Cork Board of Public Assistance.

Is the Minister not aware of the receipt in his Department of such a request from the South Cork Board of Public Assistance, which includes members of his own Party, in respect of wage increases as and from 1st January? It is in his Department.

I am aware that at the time this reply was drafted and at the time when I considered the terms of it, we had not received the request.

Although it is there.

It cannot be there. We have not received it. It cannot be in two places at once.
