Vol. 170 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accredited Dairy Herds.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) the number of dairy herds accredited in this State, (b) the number of herds county by County, (c) the names of the owners of each herd and (d) the number and classification of animals in each herd.

In the accredited herds scheme there is no distinction between dairy herds and any other type of herd. The owner of an accredited herd is free at any time to change the stock within the herd subject to compliance with the ordinary rules of the scheme.

In further reply to the question, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate with the Official Report a list of all accredited herds registered on 30th June, 1958.

Following is the list:—
