Vol. 172 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford New School.

20.

asked the Minister for Education what is the position regarding the proposed new school at St. John's Park, Waterford.

A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of erecting a new national school at St. John's Park (Ballytruckle), Waterford City. I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that tenders for the erection of the school have been received by the manager's architects. The commissioners are in consultation with those architects in regard to certain arrangements which will have to be made before the acceptance of a tender can be authorised. The commissioners hope that they will be in a position to authorise the manager, at an early date, to accept a tender.
