asked the Minister for Finance if he will supply details of Public Capital expenditure for each of the financial years 1948-49 to the current financial year in a form similar to Appendix 10 of Economic Development recently published by the Government, or in such other form as will facilitate comparison between capital expenditure in these years and the capital expenditure proposal in Appendix 10.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total amount of capital expenditure by the State and public bodies (including capital financed from internal sources) in each financial year from and including 1948-49 to the current financial year.

For the years 1956-57 to 1958-59, inclusive, the information which the Deputy requests is that given in the Table appended to my reply to a question by Deputy Sweetman on 25th November, 1958 (Dáil Debates: Volume 171, No. 7, columns 779-780). For the earlier years, as I stated in the reply to Deputy Sweetman which I have just mentioned, information is not available in my Department to enable particulars to be furnished on the basis requested.
