asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the names of counsel briefed by or on behalf of the Attorney General or any State Department and the fees paid or payable to such counsel from 1st June, 1957, up to 31st January, 1959; whether any legal fees have during this period been paid or are payable to any member of the Oireachtas and, if so, if he will state the name or names of such counsel and the total amounts paid or to be paid.

Subject to the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report a tabular statement showing the amounts of fees paid or payable to counsel briefed on behalf of the State from Votes accounted for by my Office and that of the Revenue Commissioners. I am not in a position to give particulars of fees not yet assessed or those payable from other Votes.
With regard to the last part of the Deputy's question the statement includes particulars for Senators B. Lenihan, J.B. O'Quigley and E. Ó Riain.
