Vol. 173 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carrick (Donegal) Bridge.

28.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received an application for a minor relief grant for the repair of a bridge in the townland of Stranakirka, Carrick, County Donegal; and if, owing to the urgency of this work, he will make a grant available.

I assume the bridge to which the Deputy refers is that situated at the Straleel-Stranakirka townland boundary on the accommodation road which runs northwards from the end of the county road near James Hegarty's house by Pat Harkin's house to Charles Boyle's house.

A grant for the repair of this bridge was sanctioned in the 1958-59 programme of minor employment schemes for County Donegal. The county engineer has been asked to have the work put in hands as soon as a favourable opportunity presents itself.
