Vol. 174 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vaccination against Poliomyelitis.

9.

asked the Minister for Health whether he has reconsidered his decision in regard to making a free vaccination service against anterior poliomyelitis available to an extended group of the people; and, if so, to what extent, and in what circumstances.

I hope to introduce the Estimates for my Department in the near future. I shall take the opportunity which the occasion offers to refer to the question of vaccination against poliomyelitis and the particular issue of the groups for whom a free service should be made available. In the meantime, I have authorised an extension of the current free and contributory schemes from ten to eighteen years of age.
