Vol. 174 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Driving Licences.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of driving licences held by (a) women and (b) men in 1957 and 1958.

The Road Traffic (Driving Licences) Regulations do not require the licensing authorities to keep separate registers of licences issued to men and to women. The information sought by the Deputy is accordingly not available.

Is the Minister aware that I happened to see a printed notice on the back of a motor car last week: "Beware—lady driver"?
