Vol. 174 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Unemployed.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of each centre the number of registered unemployed at the Dunmanway, Castletownbere, Bantry, Skibbereen and Clonakilty employment exchanges at the latest available date.

The numbers of persons on the Live Register at the latest available date (2 May, 1959) at the following local offices of the Department of Social Welfare were:—Dunmanway 97; Castletownbere 476; Bantry 211; Skibbereen 167 and Clonakilty 101.

Would the Taoiseach say if he intends to make any productive employment available for that large number of unemployed persons?

That is a Supplementary Question which is not appropriate to the main question.
