Vol. 175 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Shops in Raheny Residential Area.

4.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the widespread dissatisfaction caused to the residents of Ennafort Park, Raheny, by his action in permitting the erection of a shop or shops in this private residential area when the Town Planning Committee of Dublin Corporation had refused permission; and if in order to prevent the very real danger of a drop in value of the houses as a result of his decision, he will alter it.

My attention has been drawn to a newspaper report of dissatisfaction as a result of my decision on an appeal under the Town and Regional Planning Acts whereby permission was given for the construction of one properly designed residential shop at Ennafort Park, Raheny, near the entrance to Harmonstown Halt. My decision in this matter was made after consideration of all the relevant factors and there is no power to alter it.
