asked the Taoiseach if he will state (a) the estimated profits of farmers in 1938 and in each lear from 1955 to date, (b) the estimated amount of agricultural wages and salaries in those years, and (c) the percentage of the farm incomes paid in agricultural wages and salaries in each case.

The information requested by the Deputy is available only in respect of the sector agriculture, forestry and fishing as a whole. For this sector the information is shown in the following table:—

The estimates of agricultural income are at present being revised on the basis of data collected in the National Farm Survey. The revised estimates will be published in the 1958 issue of the Irish Statistical Survey.
