Vol. 177 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Surplus Sheep: Six County Outlet.

51.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will explore the possibilities of an outlet in the Six Counties for surplus sheep, as the recent smuggling of sheep indicates that there is a market in that area.

Since trade in the export of sheep to the Six Counties is free there is no helpful action I could take in the matter. Store sheep exported to the Six Counties become eligible for subsidy payments under the British Fatstock Guarantee Scheme three months after importation.
