The number of students in receipt of scholarships paid out of public funds who attended first year classes following day continuation courses at vocational schools during the session 1958/59 was 991. In addition a number of first year students following such courses enjoyed scholarships which were privately financed or which were awarded in the form of free places. Particulars in regard to these are not available in my Department.
