NOTES
(1) Dublin area included the city and county of Dublin, Bray and Greystones.
(2) Increases relate to 2 lb. loaves sold in grocers' shops or delivered by bakers to householders.
(3) The prices in Dublin and in non-Dublin areas were amalgamated in May, 1951.
(4) The price-distinction between (a) two-piece and turnover and (6) other batch was not made before May, 1951.
In that connection, could the Minister give us any indication as to whether he expects any likelihood of a further increase in the price of the 2 lb. loaf occurring in the immediate future?
I do not think there is.
Is the Minister aware—
There is an increase announced this morning.
—it was announced this morning?
The Deputy referred to a further increase.
Heavens, no. I thought one increase in one day was enough.
I presumed the Deputy was referring to the increase announced this morning.
