Vol. 178 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Territorial Waters: Position of Six-County Fishermen.

62.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he has received any communication recently from representatives of the fishermen of the Six Counties with regard to consultations between them and representatives of the Twenty-Six County fishermen to discuss matters arising out of the proposed new territorial waters of the State; and if he will indicate what action he has taken in regard to the communication.

The answer to the first part of the question is "No" and the second part therefore does not arise.

Do I take it that the Minister is speaking on behalf of the Department when he states that no representations and communications from the fishermen have been received within the last month by him, in his Department, in connection with the proposed new statutory territorial waters?

No. As far as my information is concerned I have given a full answer to the Deputy's question.
