Vol. 178 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Cork Unemployment Grants.

26.

asked the Minifor Finance if grants will be made available this year for the relief of unemployment in towns and villages in North Cork.

Grants totalling £1,850, conditional on a local contribution of £615 have been notified to Cork County Council for the eight nonurbanised towns in north Cork which qualified for such grants this year.

In view of the exceptional circumstances of unemployment in the town of Rathluirc, could the Parliamentary Secretary state the amount of the grant that is available in that town?

The grant notified to Rathluirc is £200, subject to a local contribution of £65, being a total of £265. That allocation is based on the figures of unemployed, which is the usual practice.
