asked the Taoiseach if he will state the quantity of oats exported during August, September and October this year, the price received for it, the country to which it was exported, the names of exporters, the total quantity of maize imported in lieu of such exports, the names of the importers and the quantity allotted to each.
I propose, with the permission of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle, to take questions No. 5 and No. 6 together and to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the quantity, value and average price of oats imported and exported during August, September and October, 1959, and distinguishing countries of origin and of final destination.
It is not the practice of the Central Statistics Office to reveal the names of individual exporters or importers.
Licences for the importation of maize have not been granted against oats exports.
