I propose, with the permission of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing for the period January-September in each of the years 1954-59 the volume index of Imports and of Total Exports to base January-September 1953=100. It must be pointed out that in preparing such figures for parts of the year the normal practice of the Central Statistics Office is to use as base the whole calendar year 1953.
