It is difficult to relate the description "road-making machinery" to the headings of the Official Import List, since many different types of machinery that are commonly used in road construction operations may also be used for other purposes. However, I propose, with the permission of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing, in respect of each of the years 1955 to 1959, the value of permanent and of temporary imports under each of a number which, it is thought, may be relevant to the Deputy's question.
