Vol. 180 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Completion of Road Scheme at Eastwell (Galway).

32.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that grave inconvenience and surface flooding are being caused to owners of adjoining property owing to the non-completion of the road-widening and repair of the main road at Eastwell, Cappatagle, Ballinasloe; and if he will state (a) why the work has not been completed, and (b) when it is intended to complete it.

The execution of roadworks is a matter for the local authority concerned. The completion of the scheme in question by Galway County Council has been held up by land acquisition difficulties. I cannot say when those difficulties will be resolved.
