The amount expended from public funds in the current financial year which ends on 31st March, 1960 on Civil Aviation is not yet available. If the Deputy would repeat the question towards the end of May I will be in a position to supply the information.
The information in regard to estimated expenditure in the year ending 31st March, 1961, with comparable figures for the previous year, may be found in the recently published volume of Estimates at pages 250 to 256, (Transport and Power Vote) and at page 271 (Posts and Telegraphs Vote). The estimate of expenditure by Aer Rianta should be available to my Department towards the end of May. There is no airmail subsidy.
