asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of applications for turbary plots received by the Land Commission during the two-year period ended 29th February, 1960, the number of plots allotted during the same period, the number of applications still outstanding, the bogs where the plots were allotted and the sums voted for development and drainage of those bogs.

Land Commission statistics are compiled by reference to financial years. In the latest completed two year period, viz. 1957-59, a total of 2,695 turbary allotments were made on numerous bogs throughout the country. In the same period, a total of £109,000 was expended on turbary development. Statistics are not available for the other details in the question.
