Vol. 181 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Import Duties on Clothing.

11.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is proposed to make representations to the British Government to abolish the import duties on clothing containing a quantity of artificial silk or other man-made fibre; and, if so, when.

I would refer the Deputy to the Taoiseach's statement, recorded at Column 118 of the Volume of Dáil Debates for 26th April, during the Adjournment Debate on the Anglo-Irish Trade Agreement, 1960. Consultations with the British authorities on the import duties referred to by the Deputy are proceeding.
