Vol. 181 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Regulations Governing Public Service Vehicles.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his attention has been drawn to regulations being enforced by the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána whereby owners of public service vehicles, hackneys, taxis, etc., are being placed under a serious hardship; and if in view of the fact that such regulations were drawn up nearly 25 years ago and are not in accord with modern conditions he will take the necessary steps to revoke them forthwith.

My attention has been drawn to these matters. So far as hackney licences are concerned, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his next Question.

So far as taxis are concerned, the amendment of the regulations governing these vehicles is at present under consideration.
