Vol. 181 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Trawlers.

34.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the sale of three deep-sea trawlers, the property of An Bord lascaigh Mhara, has been completed, and, if so, what was the price obtained.

I understand that the sale of these vessels has not been completed but that negotiations are in progress.

Could the Minister tell us where those three vessels lie at the present time?

One of them is at sea and there are two tied up——

But where are they tied up?

If the Deputy wants to inspect one of them I shall arrange to have it located for his visit.

I should like to know where they are but I can assure the Minister that I would not go to sea in any one of the three of them. It looks as if £200,000 of the taxpayers' money is being lost on these three.
