Vol. 182 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Barley Exports.

2.

asked the Taoiseach what quantity of feeding barley was exported since last year's harvest; and at what price it was sold.

All exports of unmilled barley, excluding seed barley, are brought to account under the single heading "Unmilled Barley" of the Official Export List, and it is not possible, therefore, to distinguish separately exports of feeding barley. The total quantity of unmilled barley, excluding seed barley, exported in the period from 1st September, 1959 to 31st March, 1960, the latest date up to which figures are at present available, was 659,538 cwt. and the average f.o.b. price received for it was £1 2s. 1d. per cwt.
